出席这活动的媒体朋友，可以选不同的“勇气定义引言’牌，戴在身上，有：“Be all in or get all out. There is no halfway.” 另一个引言是“If there is no way, create one.” 而我则戴了这一句话“Courage is grace under pressure.”
The Asia Pacific sneak preview of Porsche’s new Panamera was held last week at Chef André Chiang’s RAW in Taipei. The new Panamera was displayed outside the cutting-edge restaurant where guests were treated to a gastronomical delight that included the tender, delectable cow’s tongue. But not before we were shown videos featuring three personalities and their answers to the question, “What is courage?” Chef André, Michelle Yeoh and Patrick Dempsey gave their take on how courage might change everything.
At the restaurant, Chef André shared in person from his challenging and inspirational journey that began in France. He believes that, “Creativity takes courage. To be willing to try something that people never tried. It is a curiosity, the hunger for knowledge and the desire to be the best. Courage is belief. Courage is self-discovery. Because courage changes everything.”
品 Prestige has featured Chef André’s culinary creations in the appropriately themed “Dare” issue. He created a special menu for the Taipei event. Chef André told me that the selections were based on the 24 Chinese micro seasons. Many of the ingredients were Chinese or Taiwanese yet the presentation was like fine French cuisine. The combination of East and West resulted in a refreshing and satisfying blend of contrasting tastes, styles and values.
The Porsche Panamera is also the result of the fusion of seemingly contradictory attributes: a high-performance car in the tradition of the iconic 911 and a luxurious four-door saloon. “Courage” was certainly required when the first-generation Porsche Panamera was unveiled in Shanghai in 2009. After all, when Porsche created the luxury SUV segment with the first Cayenne, considerable controversy resulted. The second-generation Panamera is a complete redevelopment of Stuttgart’s Grand Tourer concept.
The new Panamera looked impressive in the flesh. Unsurprisingly it continues the external styling that resembles a stretched 911. It has muscular shoulders, athletic flanks and a faster roofline. The engines, transmissions, chassis, instrument displays and entertainment system are said to have all been improved. But how is it like to drive Porsche’s redefined Grand Tourer? I cannot wait to find out.
So what to me is courage? Tags were given out at the event for guests to choose from, such as, “Be all in or get all out. There is no halfway.” Another says, “If there is no way, create one.” I wore this: “Courage is grace under pressure.”
